This March I will be in Cuba participating in the the Latin American meeting of the International Musicological Society and the VIII International Colloquium on Musicology hosted by Casa de las Américas.

This February I will be in Colombia as resident musicologist for the Jornadas de Música Contemporanea organized by CCMC. I will be giving three talks: "CLAEM, un momento crítico de la vanguardia musical latinoamericana," "Filantropía y música," and "Música y significado: Seminario/Taller sobre herramientas analíticas en semiótica musical."

Starting Fall 2013 I joined the faculty at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, The State Univeristy of New Jersey

Happy to be the new chair of the Latin American interest group of the Society for American Music.

My article on Coriún Aharonián is now available in the Latin American Music Review 34 (2) Fall 2013, p.254-285.

 
Eduardo Herrera is Assistant Professor of Music History and Ethnomusicology at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. In addition to writing about music, he is also a guitarist, bass player and sometimes, a composer.
